What the course covers
One-day workshop
Health & safety at work: the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, risk assessments and dynamic risk assessment; behaviour and communication: how behaviour breeds behaviour, your own positive and negative influence, one-to-one communication and blocks to communication; levels of escalation and signs of aggression, exit strategies and reporting; the effects of workplace violence: short, medium and long term effects, support mechanisms, and the law relating to self-defence.
How it is delivered
Online in a live, virtual setting, or in a classroom at a suitable venue provided by you.
Assessment and certification
All delegates who attend receive an attendance e-certificate.
What delegates take away
Officers finish with updated knowledge of how to handle conflict on street, from early de-escalation through to exit strategies, reporting and support.
