City & Guilds Award and Certificate in Managing Parking Operations

Designed by the BPA, City and Guilds and the Institute of Leadership and Management, these courses aim to raise the level of professionalism within the parking sector. They provide the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a variety of management roles, including: parking manager, area manager, parking operations manager, contract manager, contract compliance and debt recovery manager.

The qualification is set at three different levels and can be taken as either an Award or Certificate:

Level 3: This has been developed for those in supervisory or firstline management roles, and deals with the management of parking operations

Level 4: This is targeted at candidates involved more in management of parking operation activities, and deals with parking leadership and management

Level 5: This is ideal for those involved in strategic planning and delivery of parking services, and deals with strategic parking leadership and management

The Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004 and its guidance places an emphasis on both staff training and continuous professional development for local authority professionals to maintain high standards of parking enforcement.
