Alpha Parking wins City & Guilds Accreditation for Conflict Management Course
Alpha Parking has been awarded City & Guilds accreditation as a training centre offering the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Conflict Management.
The Certificate is designed to help staff in a variety of roles across the public and private sector deal effectively with violent, aggressive or abusive people.
Students on the course are taught how to assess and reduce the risk of violence in the work environment; recognise a potential escalation towards violent behaviour before taking appropriate measures to defuse the situation; identify post incident support and report the circumstances to provide information for personal and organisational learning.
Alpha Parking has been training staff to the Level 2 Award for Civil Enforcement Officers (formerly Parking Attendants) since it was introduced in 2006. The consultant runs a number of other courses, seminars and workshops for staff at all levels within the parking and enforcement professions.
“Since people working in the parking industry are particularly vulnerable to both verbal abuse and violence, the City & Guilds Award for Civil Enforcement Officers itself contains a significant element of conflict management training,” explains Alpha Parking Director, Penny Winder. “Unfortunately, incidents of aggression towards people in many other jobs and professions continue to increase, so we see the Conflict Management Certificate as a valuable asset to anyone regularly dealing with the public face to face.”
