February 2008 Luke Harding shortlisted for Parking Person of the Year Alpha Parking's Luke Harding is among the finalists for Parking Person of the Year 2008 at the prestigious British Parking Awards to be held at the Dorchester Hotel on 7 March. Luke was nominated by Warwick District Council's Gary Chorlton for his substantial contribution to improving skills and standards at all levels of the parking industry over a period of nearly 4 years. Luke identified the need for a structured career path on his first day in the industry, when he was disappointed to discover there were no formal qualifications attached to the parking attendant post for which he had just applied. He has since become a leading force in the creation of comprehensive training courses for parking attendants, supervisors and managers and helped Alpha Parking become one of the first centres to be accredited by City & Guilds for parking industry qualifications including one of the first courses leading to the City & Guilds Level 2 Parking Attendantsí Certificate. We wish Luke the very best of luck at the awards ceremony next month. |
